Project Description
Huts provide an escape from the banality of everyday life, and habitual surroundings. This need for the unusual is the distinguishing factor between a long-term residence and the momentary perch. In this context, a playful approach emerges, making room for experimentation with the forms and feelings that buildings possess.
Freed from the technical requirements that usually dictate the design and function of architecture, this project focuses on the needs that drive people to spend their spare time in small shelters miles away from urban space, and explores the fine balancing point between the extremes of retreat and adventure.
