The ANTHROBOT project explores the perspective of the human-machine relationship through a trio structure of child – senior and a 6-axis robot, centered around the question of how an intergenerational dialogue can be prompted through interaction with technology. The robot mediates through contact, becoming the vehicle and engine of the relationship between two representatives of different generations. Through choreography with two performers (10 and 70+ years old) with the robot, a structured installation-performance is created, inviting visitors to immerse themselves in a world affording various encounters between human and non-human actors. Visitors become witnesses of cross-generational encounters, mediated by the robot that moves, responds to impulses and generates them. In a reflective process, the audience is confronted with the question: What expectations, demands, and ideas do seniors and children contribute to concrete interactions with robots?
Together with the DIPHTHONG collective we will work on bringing this concept to life on stage! The Project will take place in two phases: During the first stage from October 17th to November 13th, we will meet Tuesdays and Thursdays. The second stage from November 13th to November 30th will be more intensive and is geared to make the theater piece ready for showtime from December 1st until 3rd at Kunsthafen Rhenania!
