Code & Context: Inclusive platform for culture | Code & Context: Barrierefreie Kulturplattform

People with disabilities still experience far-reaching exclusions in the cultural sector. Depending on the perspective of their disability, they have only limited and completely different access to cultural offerings, both qualitatively and quantitatively. In order to achieve a sustainable, system-changing opening, it is urgently necessary to develop cultural offerings that take into account specific needs in their accessibility and to publish them in a bundled and easy-to-find manner. Information on accessible cultural events should be available at a glance to both those working in the cultural sector and those interested in it. As a tool for this, a digital, barrier-free platform for culture should be created on which accessible cultural offerings for people with disabilities can be found centrally and in a structured manner.

Together with the inclusion experts from Un-Label, we are developing prototypes for partial aspects of this future platform. In doing so, we work in participation with people with different disability perspectives and cooperate with students of the study program Code & Context.

The results of the collaboration will ideally be incorporated into the development of a nationwide digital, accessible cultural platform.

This project takes place in the Code & Context spaces in Köln Mülheim!

Nach wie vor erfahren Menschen mit Behinderungen im Kultursektor weitreichende Ausgrenzungen. Sie haben, je nach Behinderungsperspektive, qualitativ und quantitativ nur bedingte und völlig unterschiedlichen Zugangsmöglichkeiten zu Kulturangeboten. Um eine nachhaltige, systemverändernde Öffnung zu erreichen, ist es dringend erforderlich, Kulturangebote zu entwickeln, die in ihrer Zugänglichkeit den jeweiligen spezifischen Bedarfen Rechnung tragen und diese gebündelt und leicht auffindbar zu veröffentlichen. Sowohl Kulturschaffenden wie -interessierten sollten Informationen über barrierefreie Angebote auf einen Blick zur Verfügung stehen. Als Werkzeug hierfür soll eine digitale, barrierefreie Kulturplattform geschaffen werden, auf der zugängliche Kulturangebote für Menschen mit Behinderung zentral und strukturiert auffindbar sind. Zusammen mit den Inklusionsexpert*innen von Un-Label entwickeln wir Prototypen für Teilaspekte dieser zukünftigen Plattform. Dabei arbeiten wir partizipativ mit Menschen mit unterschiedlichen Behinderungsperspektiven zusammen und kooperieren mit Studierenden des Studiengangs Code & Context. Die Ergebnisse der Zusammenarbeit sollen in die Entwicklung einer bundesweiten digitalen, barrierefreien Kulturplattform einfließen.
