The cinematic construction of identities is a central theme in media studies, in which identity is understood not as a fixed characteristic or ontology, but as a changeable construct created narratively and visually. In films, individual and collective identities are reflected and shaped through cinematic means, cultural narratives and social discourses. How exactly this happens will be one of our guiding questions.

Die filmische Konstruktion von Identitäten ist ein zentrales Thema der Medienwissenschaft, bei dem Identität nicht als feststehende Eigenschaft respektive Onthologie, sondern als wandelbares, narrativ und visuell erzeugtes Konstrukt verstanden wird. In Filmen werden individuelle und kollektive Identitäten durch filmische Mittel, kulturelle Narrative und gesellschaftliche Diskurse reflektiert und geformt.
Wie genau dies geschieht wird eine unsere leitende Fragestellung sein.
