We set a sign … | Wir setzen ein Zeichen …

… for acceptance and diversity.
In the first part of the project we will develop together with students of the Holon Institute of Technology a sign, a symbol against racism and anti-Semitism and for acceptance of all people, regardless of age, sexual orientation, religion and skin colour.
In cooperation with the Israeli students, we will approach the topic and the existing signs from the perspective of both cultures and beyond through research, analysis, comparison and evaluation. Based on the findings, you will develop and elaborate your own proposals for a sign/symbol that can be used internationally.
From 1 – 9 May 2023, we will continue our work in Israel at the University of Holon (near Tel Aviv), complete it and present the results in an exhibition and publication.

In the second part of the project you will work with pictograms, complex sign and writing systems and create your own visual systems and interpretations. These are then to be implemented in a suitable form, according to your own concept.

Please note the following: Funds have been requested for flight costs and accommodation, but all project participants must expect to pay a small contribution of their own to finance their stay in Israel.

… für Akzeptanz und Vielfalt. Im ersten Teil des Projekts entwickeln wir zusammen mit Studierenden des Holon Instituts of Technologie ein Zeichen, Symbol gegen Rassismus und Antisemitismus und für Akzeptanz aller Menschen, unabhängig von Alter, sexueller Orientierung, Herkunft, Religion und Hautfarbe. In Zusammenarbeit mit den israelischen Studierenden werden wir uns dem Thema und den bestehenden Zeichen aus dem Blickwinkel beider Kulturen und darüber hinaus durch Recherche, Analyse, dem Vergleich und der Beurteilung nähern. Aus den gesammelten Erkenntnissen werden eigene Vorschläge für ein Zeichen / Symbol entwicklet und ausgearbeitet, das international Verwendung finden kann. Ca. vom 1. – 9.5.2023 werden wir in Israel an die Universität in Holon (Nähe Tel Aviv) unsere Zusammenareit vor Ort fortführen, fertigstellen und die Ergebnisse im Rahmen einer Ausstellung und Publikation präsentieren. Im zweiten Teil des Projekts werden wir uns mit Piktogrammen, komplexen Zeichen- und Schriftsystemen beschäftigen und eigene visuelle Systeme und Interpretationen erstellen. Diese sollen dann in einer passenden Form/Medium, nach eigenem Konzept umgesetzt werden. Bitte folgendes beachten: Für Flugkosten und Unterkunft sind Mittel beantragt worden, alle Projektteilnehmer:innen müssen aber damit rechnen einen kleinen Eigenanteil zu übernehmen um den Aufenthalt in Israel zu finanzieren. Für das Projekt wird eine große Motivations und Arbeitsbereitschaft vorausgesetzt.
