Unsere Hochschule hei\u00dft seit dem 01.09.2015: Technische Hochschule K\u00f6ln, kurz: TH K\u00f6ln. In Zusammenarbeit mit Prof. Andreas Wrede haben Studierende der KISD \u2013K\u00f6ln International School of Design die neue visuelle Identit\u00e4t der TH K\u00f6ln gestaltet. <\/strong>(english Version below)
<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

\"TH-Koeln-Wortmarke\"<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

Dieser Namens\u00e4nderung ging ein Projekt voraus in welchem das hochschulische Selbstverst\u00e4ndnis, Kernwerte und Entwicklungsziele in unterschiedlichen Gremien und Arbeitsteams intensiv er\u00f6rtert und pr\u00e4zisiert wurden.
Auf Grundlage dieser Arbeitsergebnisse wurde, in einem einj\u00e4hrigen Projekt von den Studierenden: Anna Fitz, Marius Barzynski und Benedikt Schmitz in Zusammenarbeit mit Prof. Andreas Wrede, die visuelle Identit\u00e4t der TH K\u00f6ln gestaltet.<\/p>\n

Der Gestaltungsprozess umfasste neben einer eingehenden Analyse von rund
350 hochschulischen Erscheinungsbildern, die Entwicklung von \u00fcbergeordneten Gestaltungsparametern und \u2013kriterien, welche im Einklang mit dem neuen Selbstverst\u00e4ndnis stehen und welche die Grundlage f\u00fcr weitere Entwicklungsschritte waren. Im Weiteren wurden von Studierenden drei prototypische Gestaltungsszenarien gestaltet, welche die Grundlage f\u00fcr tiefergehende Er\u00f6rterung und letztlich f\u00fcr die Entscheidung waren.<\/p>\n

Die visuelle Identit\u00e4t der TH K\u00f6ln besticht durch einfache Elemente, ihre freundliche und offene Farbigkeit und ihre klaren Gestaltungsprinzipien. Bei der visuellen Gestaltung der Marke wurde ganz bewusst auf ikonische und bedeutungsoffene Bildelemente verzichtet und der Sprache als akademisches Leitmedium der Vorzug gegeben.<\/p>\n

International, interdisziplin\u00e4r, vielf\u00e4ltig, offen
<\/strong>Die neue Wortmarke wird k\u00fcnftig unsere Hochschule in allen Kommunikationsmedien \u2013 als ein pars pro toto \u2013 repr\u00e4sentieren.\u00a0\u00a0 Die vorangestellten Begriffe Technology, Arts und Sciences umfassen die zentralen Perspektiven unseres Denkens und Handelns.
Sie betonen au\u00dferdem unsere Internationalit\u00e4t, Vielfalt und Interdisziplinarit\u00e4t.
Mit TH K\u00f6ln verdeutlichen wir unseren lokalen Bezug und unser institutionelles Fundament \u2013 als eine \u00bbuniversitas\u00ab \u2013 eine Gemeinschaft von Lehrenden und Lernenden.<\/p>\n

Durch den Begriff Technology<\/strong> geben wir der Wechselseitigkeit von Wissenschaft und Praxis einen angemessenen Ausdruck. Wir verstehen die mannigfaltigen Techniken und Praktiken als Voraussetzungen und Bedingungen jeglicher Erkenntnis. Unser Verh\u00e4ltnis zur Welt wird durch sie bestimmt. Sie sind Gegenstand unserer Denk- und Gestaltungsm\u00f6glichkeiten und mit diesen stets verwoben.<\/p>\n

Arts <\/strong>verstehen wir im Sinne der \u00bbartes liberales\u00ab als geistes- und kulturwissenschaftliche sowie k\u00fcnstlerische Auseinandersetzung mit den gesellschaftlichen und technologischen Herausforderungen.
Der Begriff Sciences<\/strong> benennt die grundlegende und selbstverst\u00e4ndliche Form unserer Forschung und Lehre \u2013 den wissenschaftlichen Plural.<\/p>\n

Die von den Studierenden entwickelte Wortmarke ist nicht nur Name, sondern auch gemeinsamer Auftrag: Denn die Bew\u00e4ltigung gesellschaftlicher Herausforderungen und die Gestaltung Sozialer Innovation geht immer auch mit der Einnahme der drei Perspektiven \u00bbTechnology, Arts und Sciences\u00ab einher. Durch diese unterschiedlichen Blickwinkel und ihre \u00dcberschneidungen \u00fcberwinden wir die Grenzen zwischen den F\u00e4chern, zwischen Lehre und Forschung, zwischen Wissenschaft und Praxis.<\/p>\n

Kurz gesagt:<\/strong>
Mit der neuen Wortmarke betont die TH K\u00f6ln ihre akademische Vielfalt, Interdisziplinarit\u00e4t und ihre Internationalit\u00e4t. Sie ist Anspruch und Auftrag:
Wissenschaft wirksam zu machen f\u00fcr Wirtschaft, Kultur und Zivilgesellschaft.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Neben der neuen Wortmarke wurde von dem Projektteam in enger Kooperation mit den unterschiedlichen Referaten und Gremien der Hochschule ein systematisches Erscheinungsbild entwickelt und s\u00e4mtliche Kommunikationsmedien werden gegenw\u00e4rtig und mit enormem Engagement aller Beteiligten umgesetzt.<\/p>\n

Technology, Arts, Sciences: TH K\u00f6ln <\/strong><\/p>\n

Fachhochschule K\u00f6ln (Cologne University of Applied Sciences) is since September 1, 2015, the TH K\u00f6ln. Students of KISD – K\u00f6ln International School of Design have designed the new visual identity of TH K\u00f6ln.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"TH-Koeln-Wortmarke\"<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

Prior to the change of name, a project preceded the process in which committees, university teams and members intensely elaborated on, analyzed and specified key values, image, development goals, and future and current strategy of our university. Based on these results, KISD students Anna Fitz, Marius Barzynski, and Benedikt Schmitz designed, under the supervision of Prof. Andreas Wrede and in a one-year-long project, the visual identity of TH K\u00f6ln.<\/p>\n

The design process comprised, besides an in-depth analysis of approximately
350 university logos, the development of key parameters and key criteria, which are in line with the new approach, image, and concept of the university, and which serve as foundation for further advancement. Subsequently, KISD students drafted three scenarios and design prototypes to be scrutinized for final decision making.<\/p>\n

The visual identity of TH K\u00f6ln now catches the eye by its simple elements, its friendly and open-minded colors, and its precise and clear-cut design. During the visual branding process, students willingly set aside iconic patterns open for interpretation and concentrated on language as academic key element instead.<\/p>\n

International, Interdisciplinary, Diverse and Open-Minded
<\/strong>The new wording and the new brand will henceforward represent \u2013 as \u201cpars pro toto\u201c – our university in all channels of communication. The terms \u201cTechnology, Arts, and Sciences\u201c are put in front of our new name. These terms perfectly grasp the pivotal perspectives of our thinking and acting. They emphasize our internationality, interdisciplinarity, and incorporate our plurality. At the same time, we do illustrate by TH K\u00f6ln our regional approach and our institutional base: as \u00abuniversitas\u00bb, a community of lecturers and learners.<\/p>\n

By Technology<\/strong>, we give the reciprocity of science and practice a suitable expression. We comprehend the multifaceted techniques and practices as prerequisites and necessary conditions for any findings and knowledge. Our relationship to the world is distinctly shaped by these. They are the subjects of our thinking and action patterns and are closely interconnected.<\/p>\n

We understand Arts <\/strong>as \u00abartes liberales\u00bb, and therefore as close examination of contemporary challenges in culture and technology through a thorough and profound analysis in humanities, art, and culture.<\/p>\n

The term Sciences<\/strong> coins the basic and self-evident structure and way of our research and teaching \u2013 our scientific pluralism.<\/p>\n

The new brand and name will be more than just a new name, but also a common mandate. Handling and resolution of societal challenges, and the creation of social innovation always requires the involvement of the three perspectives of \u00abTechnology, Arts, and Sciences\u00bb. It is through these different perspectives and their intersections that we overcome boundaries between disciplines, between instruction and research, between science and practice.<\/p>\n

Simply put: By TH K\u00f6ln, the university emphasizes its academic plurality, interdisciplinarity, and internationality. It is approach, demand, and mandate: To put science into effect for\/ and for the benefit of economics, culture, and civil society.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Apart from the new visual image, the project team developed in close cooperation with different university departments and committees an altogether systematic appearance in language, logo, and image. Currently, and with great commitment of those involved, the final steps for a new name and brand, for TH K\u00f6ln, are being taken.<\/p>\n
