This project explores the principles of designing for degrowth, building upon insights from the lecture seminar series, ‘Degrowth by Design.’ The primary goal is to empower students with a practical understanding of degrowth concepts and their direct applications within the design process. The project covers diverse topics, ensuring students receive a holistic perspective on degrowth. The week kicks off with a theoretical foundation on the necessity of degrowth, the conflicts between growth and sustainability and an introduction to alternative economic models such as regenerative economy, Doughnut Economics and the Commons theory.
