Develop the key visuals for the competition posters, which will announce the »35th/36th German Camera Award 2026 and 2027«.
How can the theme of the moving images in the world of film and television be presented in the medium of the poster? How do you get the cameramen and women, the editors, submit their work to the competition?
We are looking for refreshingly new ideas and concepts that can be realised typographically, photographically, graphically and/or illustratively on a DIN A1 poster. An animated version of the poster motif has to be developped as well.
A jury will select two motifs for the next two editions of the German Camera Award.
The project will start April, Tuesday 8th with an introduction at KISD, followed by a visit at WDR studios at Appellhofplatz in Cologne on Thursday, 10th at 1pm. These dates/visit are compulsory and will take place during project hours.
In the project, you will get to know the work / films of camera people, as well as poster designers from then and now, and develop your own motif.
Further information will be published on the project space before the start of the project.

Wir entwickeln die Key Visuals für die Wettbewerbsplakate, die den »36. und 37. Deutschen Kamerapreis (2026/2027)« ankündigen. Wie lässt sich das Thema des Bewegtbilds in der Film- und Fernsehwelt im Plakat darstellen? Wie kann erreicht werden, dass die Kameraleute, die Cutterinnen und Cutter, ihre Arbeiten zum Wettbewerb einreichen? Gewünscht sind neue Ideen und Konzepte, die sich typografisch, fotografisch, grafisch und/oder illustrativ auf einem DIN A1 Plakat umsetzen lassen. Erarbeitet wird auch eine animierte Variante des Plakatmotivs.
Eine Jury wird aus den entstandenen Entwürfen zwei Motive für die nächsten beiden Auflagen des Deutschen Kamerapreises aussuchen.
Das Projekt beginnt am Dienstag, den 8. April mit einer Einführung in der KISD, gefolgt von einem Besuch in den WDR-Studios am Appellhofplatz in Köln am Donnerstag, den 10. April um 13 Uhr. Beide Termine sind obligatorisch und finden während der Projektzeit statt.
Wir lernen in dem Projekt die Arbeiten / Filme von Kameraleuten kennen, sowie Plakat-Gestalter*innen von damals und heute und jede*r Studierende entwickelt ein eigenes Motiv. Weitere Informationen werden vor Projektstart auf dem Projektspace veröffentlicht.
