The seminar deals with the relationship between colour and meaning from a cultural studies perspective.
Colours are viewed as socio-semiotic fields of meaning that are shaped by historical, economic, cultural and social practices. They are both a condition and an expression of culture and identity.

Das Seminar behandelt die Beziehung zwischen Farbe und Bedeutung aus kulturwissenschaftlicher Perspektive.
Farben werden als sozio-semiotische Bedeutungsfelder betrachtet, die durch historische, ökonomische, kulturelle und soziale Praktiken geprägt sind. Sie sind sowohl Bedingung als auch Ausdruck von Kultur und Identität.
