Food Systems AG

The Food Systems AG explores the complexity of Proximity (regional) Food systems and their key players. The work will have two dimensions:

1. Collaborate with NeuLand eV
   The AG set up the collaboration with the community garden initiative NeuLand more than a year ago. Students have the opportunity to learn on site aspects of permaculture, food forests, agroforestry – from planning to field work. Part of this AG is to join NeuLand every 14 days (and potentially a day on some weekends) to work at their place, learn practices and make them available for our project.
2. Exploring communication opportunities and requirements for SpeiseWald Süd: The city of Cologne has now offered us a plot of land. This winter, we will examine how the working group can support the process in the long term—both in terms of knowledge transfer and communication as well as additional project planning.

Both aspects and the work of the AG relate to the MP “Designing a Food Forest: SpeiseWald Süd” starting on December 9 or 11 (to be announced in the KISDspace below)

Die Food Systems AG untersucht die Komplexität regionaler Lebensmittelsysteme und ihrer wichtigsten Akteure. Die Arbeit im Wintersemester umfasst zwei Dimensionen:

1. Zusammenarbeit mit NeuLand: Die Die AG hat vor über einem Jahr eine Zusammenarbeit mit der Gemeinschaftsgarteninitiative NeuLand ins Leben gerufen. Die Studierenden haben die Möglichkeit, vor Ort Aspekte der Permakultur, der Nahrungswälder und der Agroforstwirtschaft kennenzulernen – von der Planung bis zur Feldarbeit. Ein Teil dieser AG besteht darin, alle 14 Tage (und möglicherweise an einigen Wochenenden) bei NeuLand mitzuarbeiten, um dort Praktiken zu erlernen und diese für unser Projekt nutzbar zu machen.
2. Kommunikative Möglichkeiten und Notwendigkeiten für den SpeiseWald Süd explorieren: Die Stadt Köln hat uns nun ein Grundstück angeboten. In diesem Winter werden wir untersuchen, wie die AG den Prozess langfristig unterstützen kann – sowohl in Bezug auf Wissenstransfer und Kommunikation als auch auf zusätzliche Projektplanung.

Beide Aspekte und die Arbeit der AG beziehen sich auf das MP „Designing a Food Forest: SpeiseWald Süd”, das am 9. oder 11. Dezember beginnt (wird im KISDspace unten bekannt gegeben).
