Description - EN

In this experimental project, we are focussing on the design of interactions with robotics and create “Living Objects”. This is currently still kind of a niche topic, but it will be highly relevant in the future. We first have to deal with the technical components, encounter rough terrain, fail at one point or another and focus on three key aspects:

  • We will design and create the interactions with the UR3 robotic arm and possibly other robotic agents.

  • We will train and use artificial neural networks (“AI”) for data processing.

  • Along the way, we will learn basic principles of interaction design and discuss the social implications of using robotics.

To participate in the project, you need basic knowledge of programming (e.g. from Interactive Systems: Fundamentals) and an interest in technology. Those who have already attended an Interactive Systems: Application course can apply what they have learnt here. All others will acquire the basics through practice.

The project focuses less on a performative outcome and more on learning and the experimental process. We might exhibiting this process at the Hidden Layers conference at LOLab in June.
