OPEN MXL: COMMON GROUND

This Creative Community format is aimed at all those who have worked in MXL in the last few semesters – have taken technical seminars such as “How to Use the MXL” or Creative Tech / Mo Cap, and have realised MXL projects or are also aiming for intermediate/ BA / MA work in the Image & Motion field (and thus in MXL). This course is to be understood as an open lab for MXL culture, creative tech talk and exchange, as well as a consultation hour with Marco Bodenstein and Prof. NJU. 
In this time slot, we would like to meet informally in MXL and get to know each other better and exchange ideas like in a café; in order to plan and discuss media-artistic works technically and in terms of content, and to give and receive feedback on the fields of action of MXL. The MXL publication States of Motion serves as a basis here. With this, we would like to sharpen the focus on the main areas of the MXL. It is about media-artistic design formats, experimental aesthetics with and through combined AV technologies and research questions that always also question the performative, the physical, the emotional, topics on embodiment, movement and spatial design – and the interplay of all of these. The exchange is intended to stimulate future projects, teaching and research proposals and create a “common ground”. Anyone who wants to work in MXL in the future, is curious to learn more or is already working on something MXL-related is welcome to come. We will lead sessions loosely to not at all, but still try to cluster topics and build peer groups.

It is recommended to take the Image & Motion seminar “States of Motion: Into the Life Stream 2” after the 2-hour block.

Dieses Creative Community format richtet sich an alle, die in den letzten Semestern im MXL gearbeitet haben - technische Seminare wie "How to Use the MXL" oder Creative Tech / Mo Cap belegt, sowie MXL-Projekte realisiert haben oder auch Intermediate/ BA / MA Arbeiten im Image & Motion Bereich (und damit im MXL) anstreben. Dieser Kurs ist als offenes Lab für MXL-Kultur, Creative Tech Talk und Austausch zu verstehen, sowie als Sprechstunde mit Marco Bodenstein und Prof. NJU. 
In diesem Zeitslot möchten wir uns ungezwungen im MXL treffen und besser kennenlernen und untereinander austauschen wie in einem Café; um medien-künstlerische Arbeiten technisch und inhaltlich zu planen, zu besprechen und Feedback zu geben & zu bekommen, die Handlungsfeldern des MXL adressieren. Als Basis dient hier die MXL Publikation States of Motion. Damit möchten wir den Fokus auf die Schwerpunkte des MXL schärfen. Es geht um medienkünstlerische Design-Formate, experimentelle Ästhetik mit und durch kombinierte AV-Technologien und Forschungsfragen, die immer auch das Performative, Körperliche, Emotionale, Themen zu Embodiment, Bewegung und Raumgestaltung - und das Zusammenspiel von allem- hinterfragen. Der Austausch soll zukünftige Projekte, Lehre und Forschungs-Anträge befruchten und einen „common ground“ schaffen. Jeder der im MXL zukünftig arbeiten will, neugierig ist mehr zu erfahren oder schon an etwas MXL-affinen arbeitet, ist herzlich eingeladen zu kommen. Wir werden Sessions locker bis gar nicht leiten, dennoch versuchen Themen zu clustern und Peergroups aufbauen. Es empfielt sich im Anschluss des 2 Stunden Blocks das Image & Motion Seminar „States of Motion: Into the Life Stream 2“ mitzubelegen.
