Design of a recyclable mono material plastic object.

Plastics are literally all over the place. The many advantages of the relatively cheap, durable and easy to fabricate material turn into disadvantages the way we use and litter plastics until today. Nevertheless, plastics do have great material properties and help humans around the globe. Many of them are truly recyclable and able to transform into almost infinite shapes.
What shape would you turn it into?
Within this product design project, we will work on designs for simple mono material plastic objects that could be made within an injection molding process.
We will try to find appropriate designs that could work within daily life and add something positive to the pile of stuff there already is.
Teaming up with the freshly founded precious plastics workshop “Das Rezyklat” in Essen we will explore the world of manufactured plastic recycling. Study, experiment and produce.
Process and final results will use and improve model making skills in various forms.
