As a little information for you, incoming students: I guess you already heard a lot of the beautiful christmas markets that you can find in every bigger german city.

Especially Cologne has over seven different christmas markets. There are more “classical” christmas markets like the market on the Kölner Domplatte, or the “Markt der Engel” at Neumarkt –  and also more special-themed ones like the fairy-tale christmas market at Rudolfplatz or the medieval market at the Schokoladenmuseum. You really can see a lot of different things there and enjoy a nice Glühwein (hot wine with spices) or try out typical food like “Reibekuchen”.

If you want to seek out more information about the several markets, please have a look under the links below:

Have a nice christmas time!

Just recently an easy way to travel occured in Germany and luckily Deutsche Bahn is confronted with some serious competition. Well equiped coaches for long distance travels appeal with a cheap price and reasonable comfort (free internet, 230V electricity on board, low prices for drinks…). To give an example: Cologne – Mannheim for 11 Euro takes you 3 hours with “meinfernbus” and the bus was brand new & people were kind.

Common providers are:
